Memories

I’m talking to my friend on msn right now and she was what I will call my inspiration for this post. Well I have been out of high school for 4 years now and somedays I wish I could go back to the days where things were soo much easier. Papers, tests, it seems like everything about school was much easier. Well right now after having what she says “one of those days” my friend is sitting at her computer in her grad dress talking to me. Why? Well I think we all like to go back to the times where things seemed easier or to a time that we were happy and felt special. In her case I believe her words were “I feel like a princess.” Kind of weird to here from someone who is 21, but I can see where she is coming from.
Not everything was great about high school of course. There was always the gossip about stupid stuff, and the groups everyone separated themselves into. But in general for me I loved high school. It was where most of my friendships I have today were formed and serves as a friendly face that I pass in the hallways today.
I can’t help but look back at pictures and wish everything was like it used to. I made so many memories and because of it many more to come.
I think it is a good thing for us to be able to trigger the good times to help us through something bad. I can’t tell you how many times I have gone through my pictures on my computer to look at my pictures! Plus it is something I have in common with all my friends. Everyone always wants the pictures we took from the night before or pictures we took awhile ago. Because of the computer it is soo easy to send the pictures or put them on facebook for all of my friends!

Your blog made my night. That’s sooo cute that your friend put on her grad dress because she wanted to regain the feeling she probably had on the day of grad. Its funny how a simple piece of clothin can help use recall so many great memories. I think I may even try this technique next time I’m having one of those days. Thanks

Wow, that was touching. I loved High School too. I think I am just starting to get over it now. I do think University, for me at least, is easier. However, I think there are always times when we wish we could go back.

Your blog reminded me of a recent conversation about high school I had. My friends and I agreed that the people who were considered “cool” are now the douche bags of society. I’ve recently had alot of people agree with me on this point. I personaly enjoy uni over high school.

I can’t believe it I was actually talking to my best friend from High School about how much we miss it!
I mean we showed up late, we got to hang out with our friends and the stress was minimal at best.
If knew then what I know now I totally would have appreciated High School so much more and I actually might have shown up a little more often.

I find myself frequently saying to my friends ..”sometimes i wish i was back in highschool” because i do miss all the friendly faces, I can go for hours walking around the university or sitting in the cafeteria/lib and i wont see anyone i know, but in highschool i felt a lot more at home. With that said 93% of me would NEVER dream of going back to highschool, because of the closer knit social groups the amount of “drama” was INSANE. Ofcourse everywhere you go there’s going to be an element of “drama” i’m sure but i’m so glad to be away from the amount generated in highschool.
